DEAR JANE JORDAN—I have been married 15 years and have one child. We got along as every married couple does with ups and downs until the last two years when my husband changed. He is making good money now but sometimes acts as if he hates me, He always is bawling Me out before my folks and tells me I am crazy. I have to bite my lip to keep from crying or saying something back. I feel that he thinks I am
not good enough for him now, He used to make over me but now when I make over him he says, “Get away, I am tired.” He can't stand for me to touch him. I know I am ga jealous person and would give anything not to be. I was not Jealous until my husband started to be so cold to Mme. Sometimes when he works at night I will go to the show and then ride home with him. He never asks me where I ‘have been or anything and if I say something about the picture I saw he never lets on that he hears me. Do you think hs has grown tired of me or what? Sometimes during these last few years I feel as if T almdst hate him for the way he does, but I don’t believe I would be happy away from him, HEARTSICK.
Answer. TI don't know what ails your husband any more than you do. What if he is tired of you? You're a little tired of him, too, aren't you? Lots of married people get tired of each other after 15 years and deliberately do things to

who have to fear the wolf in case of desertion. Since your husband doesn’t want you to make love to him, why not let him alone? You can treat him decently, make him comfortable, stand up for yourself fearlessly when he bawls you out, and meet the whole unpleasant problem in a dignified manner that commands his respect. You can fill your life with other|1 interests and not be too disturbed
do. One of the commonest mistakes of married women is that they confine their interests to housekeeping and know nothing about what goes on outside the home. In this way you can keep your marriage as a going concern even though you aren't getting the love you had as a young woman. ‘At least it is a more mature approach to a problem than yearning ceaselessly for a love which your husband withholds, and allow-
hurt each other. I don't think women would be Quite so panicky about matrimonial |
