PATROLMAN INJURED IN SWIMMING POOL

Patrolman Robert Bell, 1541 N. Euclid ave, is in St. Vincent's hospital today as the result of an mn« jury received when he was swimming yesterday in Artesian .park near New Palestine, ‘The 27-year-old policeman was injured in the abdomen when he rolled onto a stick submerged in the water of a guarded swimming hole In the park. He was taken to the hospital in an ambulance. Mr. Bell, his wife, and four sons, were on a picnic when the accident occured.

RENSSELAER, N. Y, Aug. 14 (U. P.).—A new sulfa drug—sulfabenzamine—is being perfected to fight the bacteria which cause the dreaded gas gangrene in infected wounds. Dr. Theodore G. Klumpp, Winthrop Chemica] Co. president, revealed today. The new drug, which the come pany calls sulfamylon, is described as a white crystalline material, freely soluble in water yielding an acid solution.
