Goerke Is Saved After Crash
‘Second Lt. Charles L. Goerke, 1909 Howard st, was bombardier on a 13th air force Liberator that crashed near Truk on June 12. Eight of the crew survived the crash and spent 18 days on a raft before being picked up by a Cataling flying
boat.
