IN THE MALL: 1 PURPLE HEART

prise; Three Sons in

“ Service.

When Mrs. Rose Ann «Howard, 504 Regent st., went to her mailbox 'on R. R. 7 recently, she was hoping for a letter from jher son, Gregory, 121, with the infantry in France. Instead there was a package with his i return address on it. “I nearly fell over,” Mrs. Howard said after she opened the package and drew out a purple heart. “He had written previously that he had been wounded but he spoke ’ so lightly of it, I Gregory Howard didn’t think he would even get a medal.” | Her son, a private, has been {through the battles of Sicily, North !Africa and France since June, 1943. Harry R. Howard, her husband, {shares her pride in their three sons iin_the service, for he learned about war in the one before while serving with the 10th infantry division.
