{Francisco (Pancho) Segura, the {Ecuadorian tennis flash, and Pauline Betz, of Los Angeles, reigned as king and queen in the singles division of the Western Tennis tournament today, but it took an overtime match
to decide the contest between Bill Talbert, Indianapolis, and Segura. Segura, Miami ' university star, won the match, 3-6, 6-1, 4-6, 6-3 and 11-9, after both players had suffered leg injuries and had to take time out. Segura tore a ligament in his left ankle while leaping for one of Talbert’s lob shots in the second match and he had to take time out to have a physician tape it. Shortly afterward, Talbert was troubled by a tightening of the muscles in his right leg and had to take 10 minutes in the last set to have it massaged.
