Gray Ladies Receive Awards
MRS. PERRY W. LESH, chairman of the Red Cross volunteer services, presented awards today to 13 gray ladies who have come pleted two years of continuous service. The service stripe awards were made in a ceremony at Billings hospital preceding a luncheon served from the mobile canteen operated by the Red Cross canteen corps. Those receiving awards were Mesdames Robert Becherer, Dorothy Canfield, A. C. Crandall, Louis Segar, Ernest Fisher, John W. May, John R. Newcomb, Herbert Pinnell, Howard B. Pelha, Ewing Sinclair, John B. Stokely, and Harold Brown and Miss Josephine Madden. One year stripes were given to 23 other members, on 5 » s s EJ The auxiliary to the Children’s bureau of the Indianapolis Orphan home was entertained recently at a luncheon meeting in the home of Mrs. Alfred W. Noling, Golden Hill. The hostess was assisted by Mesdames Scot B. Clifford, Wilbur Carter and A. 8. Woodard. Mrs. Silas B. Reagan presided. Mrs. Charles S. Brignall reported on the convention of the National Council of Social Workers held recently in Cleveland which she attended as the auxiliary’s delegate. The Rev. R. M. Dodrill, pastor of the Broadway Baptist church, will read the vows at 8 o'clock tonight uniting Miss Wilma Bockius and Cpl. Pasquale Guglielmo, Camp Atterbury. The ceremony will be in the home of the bride’s mother, Mrs. Maude Stewart, 607 W. 30th st. A reception in the home will follow the ceremony, Mr. Guglielmo is the son of Mr. and Mrs, Antonio Guglielmo, Newark, N. J. Miss Bockius will wear a white embroidered marquisette gown styled with a sweetheart neckline, short sleeves and a full skirt, Her fingertip veil of net will fall from a coronet of orange blossoms, The bride's sisters, Misses Luvonda and Dorothy Bockius, will be maid of honor and bridesmaid, respectively. The former will wear a blue marquisette frock and she will carry deep pink gladioli and delphinium.
