who wouldn't take a chance on seeing the show on wheels without first-hand recommendations missed
performances in the Hoosier capital.
Henie ice revue except the feats are performed on roller skates on a special masonite floor and many of the acts would be impossible on blades.
“Floats” Over Floor
Symphony in Color” and “Springtime Down South,” is a young and pretty blond who even looks like Sonja. She has the Henie spin down pat and she is so graceful she seems to float over the floor. Color in this elaborate show is outstanding, especially in such numbers as “Russia Dances,” “Highland Belles” and Nirska’s act, one of the added attractions. The exotic dancer thrills the audience with a breath-taking “Dance of the Butterfly” ard manipulates rainbow lights on her great silken wings in a spectacular finale. In the line of daring roller skating acrobatics, the Whirlwinds, Hugh Thomas and Lavada Simmons and Frand Wieszner and Madg Gardie draw the oh's and ah’s from the audience.
Juggler on Wheels
For variety, Bobby May does some of the smoothest juggling you've ever seen and he does it on roller skates, and something that’s really different in this kind of a show is an exhibition by two badminton experts who know how to hit the “bird” and draw laughs, too. There also are speed and precision skating acts by Ann Manion and Lew Testa, Shirley Barnhart, Sophie West, Ann Nichols, Lon Hall, Dolly- Durkin and Frank Foster. To draw the laughs were the comedy numbers, “Little Maxie and the Five Draftees,” “Yoo Hoo Silver,” a dancing horse exhibition and a part in the Whirlwind's performlance when a 300-pound lady volun(teers to be spun round and round {by one of the boys. The number ends in a flop . . . the fat lady lands on top of the skater. “Skating Vanities” is a wonderful show with grace, skill, speed and (beauty. It's something different |than you've ever seen before and {you really miss a treat if you don’t see one of the shows tonight {through Tuesday.
