Second Front Is the Only! Interest of Day to People.
Times Special BERN, May 12.—American correspondents in Switzerland are very popular these days. Invitations pour in on them from all sides. Even their movements are carefully watched now. : All this enthusiasm is not due to Swiss pleasure in American company but to the presumed fact that

atmosphere of this neutral haven. Nobody really puts any stock in D-day rumors, but rumors multiply,
is typical of the excitement through Europe being fed so astutely by allied propaganda.
Only One Intact
Nobody here has any interest in reading anything in his daily paper except news pertaining to the second front. Even the daily and nightly allied bombings have lost their gruesome appeal So Swiss editors are forced to speculate. Several editorial forecasts have been made during the past weeks and when the prophesied date has passed uneventfully, another has come up with just as much solemnity. | Two elements appear to Swiss] commentators as a sure sign that “the day” is at hand. The first is the allied bombing of German coastal defenses, which began on Tuesday. The second is the fact that German air defense is weakening. That Germany should now devote most of its air defense to the protection of the reich appears to confirm the impression here that its reserves are getting low.

EVEN when your house cleaning time is limited there should be no slackening of the sanitary measures that are so important to greater health protection in the home. Keeping healthy is more necessary than ever during these critical times when there are fewer civilian doctors and when America's manpower must be kept on the job for Victory. It's easy to provide increased home health protection by making Clorox a standby in your daily cleansing routine.
In Kitchen Cleansing it's important to concentrate on making germ “danger zones” sanitary. The simple, efficient way to greater kitchen sanitation is to use Clorox in routine cleansing of refrigerators, sinks, drainboards, china and glassware; dishcloths and dish towels; floors, garbage containers.
Every Housewife enjoys the prestige of snowy-white cottons. and linens. Clorox gently bleaches white cottons and linens (brightens fast colors), removes stains, even scorch, mildew... reduces rubbing, prolonging life of precious fabrics. And Clorox in laundering is an added safeguard to family health.
In the Bathroom ordinary cleansing methods are not enough, for bathroom surfaces may look clean, yet be covered with invisible germ dangers. Here again, Clorox provides greater sanitation in the cleansing of tile, enamel, porcelain, linoleum and wood surfaces.
Clorox is ultra-refined, free from caustic, an exclusive, patented quality-feature. It is concentrated for economy and has the same full strength, same high quality standards today as always. Simply follow directions on the label which lists many important household and personal uses. There is only one Clorox... always ask for if by nome.
