Loew's Film Is Tuneful
‘Broadway , Rhythm' Stars Murphy, Simms. Ginny Simms, radio's singing
nicolor at Loew’s theater yesterday, starring in a gay and tuneful musical dish, “Broadway Rhythm.” Teamed with George Murphy, Ginny sings such favorites as “All the Things You Are,” “Who's Who?”
of those sentimental gentlemen of swing, Tommy Dorsey and his orchestra. ; A member of a famous theatrical family, Jonnie Demming (Murphy) is a successful Broadway producer and does his best to keep his kid sister, Gloria De Haven, in school despite hier yearning for Lhe stage.
Romance Is Rocked
Ginny, playing the role of a Hollywood movie star, Helen Hoyt, comes to New York searching for a play and winds up in a production with Charles Winninger, Jonnie’s father. When Jonnie finds out Helen is teamed up with his father, his romance with her is nipped in the bud. Of course, things are patched up and like all musicals, the story ends happily. Murphy, looking very handsome even though he has added a mustache, sings and dances well and Miss Simms looks well in techni-
things. Ben Blue and Nancy Walker form an agreeable comedy team and Rochester, Jack Benny's man Friday, deserts Benny long enough to give a laugh-provoking performance as Murphy's man, Eddie.

The Billetta
Share Keith's Honors With Coco, Steve, Eddie.
Top honors at Keith's this week go to two fast-moving acts, the three Billetta girls whose rapid-fire tumbling and gymnastics open the revue, and to Coco, Steve and Eddie, three personable young men who close the show with a new variation of knock-about comedy. Ed Resener and his orchestra open the show with a tropical tune and the Billeta trio follows with their rapidly paced tumbling routine. The DoRes, two comic misses, play a variety of musical instruments, and Frank Paxton performs miracles in the way of guessing the numbers on currency, repeating essential data on cities called out by
states in 17 seconds.
moving comedy chatter routine. The former played Indianapolis 35 years ago at the old National, which stood across the street from the Lincoln hotel. The Three Vagabonds, a troupe of performing dogs, complete the revue, The picture, “The Saint Meets the Tiger,” is another of the Simon Templar adventures, featuring Hugh Sinclair and Jean Gillie.
