Bear 's Bite
Delays Act
Trainer -Fails to Appear at Keith's Opening. One of Beebe's Bears temporarily ate that animal act right out of the feature spot on Keith's stage show this week-end when he bit a chunk out. of Beebe's leg during a recent feeding period The famed trainer was assaulted in the baggage room of Union station last Sunday while doling out daily rations to his hungry entourage. Consequéntly he was unable to put the bears through their paces at Keith's initial performance. Mr. Beebe is still recuperating at St. Francis hospital, but the theater management believes he'll be in shape to carry on the show today Yesterday, Rose Beebe, his wife, stood at a respectable distance from the bear-cages, carefully arranged in the background, and delivered a brief lecture on the care’ and feeding of pets, particularly those of the ferocious variety, Mrs. Beebe said she didn’t think she was on friendly enough terms with her husband's menagerie to serve as a “stand-in” pending his return.
Others on Bill
Meanwhile the bears languished in their cages and looked sullen. Other acts on the Keith bil] include Earl Morgan, a sly-fingered magician who chain smokes ¢ at
{least 40 or 50 cigarets in the course
of his 10-mintite act by the simple expedient of whisking already lit fags out of thin air; the La Form sisters, who in addition to living up to their names, cavort through a number of body-twisting acrobatic feats; Wilkie and Dare a contortion and ¢+ dance team, and the Pretenders, three youths who do takeoffs on the Andrews Sisters and the Merrymacs with the assistance of recordings by the name trios. Bob Rollins M. C.s the show. The film is a revival, Bob Hope in “Going Spanish.” (By Sherley Uhl.)
