APPEAL CONTEMPT CHARGE IN TEXAS
AUSTIN, Tex. Dec, 9 (U., P).—
yesterday to dismiss for want of juris@iction an appeal of R. J. Thomas of Detroit on a charge of contempt of court in Texas. The dismissal was sought by the attorney general's department after Thomas, president of the C.I.O. United Automobile Workers’ union, appealed a Texas supreme court decision upholding the tontempl findings of a district court. Thomas was found to have violated an injunction issued by the district court forbidding him from soliciting union memberships in Texas without a license, and was fined $100 and sentenced to three days in jail,
