Using stolen gasoline receipts, they secretly filled the plane's tanks, Just ‘before the takeoff, the mechanics told the officer they believed the flight should last longer than usual to permit them to iron out all mechanical difficulties. The officer then added more gasoline, When it came time to return from the test flight, one of the mechanics struck the officer with an iron bar, knocking him unconscious, and flew the plane toward Cyprus.
