PROTESTANTS BEGIN NATION-WIDE FORU
NEW YORK, Oct. 20 (U., P.).— —A| nation-wide Protestant campaign for post-war international collaboration was under way today followling a warning from Sumner Welles, ‘former undersecretary of state, that “political co-operation and eco-| nomic isolation simply will not mix.” In a message to the Christian Mission on World Order, Welles | said that “no political and security structure of international organi-| zation could stand for long if eco-| {nomic relations among nations were | characterized, as they were after! the last war, by thrusts and coun-ter-thrusts of such economic weap-| long as high tariffs, restrictive] quotas and discriminations.” Welles wis unable to attend the meeting last night opening the |drive, which will include visits by| the Christian Mission to 102 cities in 36 states between Nov. 1 and 20, | {because of 41 the iin illness of his wife.

Keith's Bill Has Variety|
{Sid Blake's Skit Is the Program Feature.
There is enough variety in this ry stage bill at Keith's to please rybody. he outstanding act is that performed ‘by the emcee, Sid Blake. |He calls up four men from the Jaudience (at yesterday's opening show three soldiers and one sailor volunteered) to take part in his “Amos and Andy” skit, He seats them in a row and has them move their lips while he speaks the four parts, Amos, Brother Crawford, Lightnin’ and Andy, in back of them. The result is that the audience gets the impression that the four volunteers are’ actually speaking. Johnny Faust's marionettes also get quite a nice hand. In succession he puts on a clown, a Chinese dancing boy, “Elsie the cow” and a concert pianist, complete with piano. The latter character gets most of the laughs with his aping of the actions of typically temperamental pianists. Chester Fredericks and his partner, Kaye Wilson, offer tap numbers and some clowning, Jo and Joey Mack do comedy acrobatics and Ole and Olegario, a Filipino, shows his skill with a yo-yo and the harmonica. The Three Tones sing out with “Put Your Arms Around Me Honey,” “Out of My Dreams” and a service medley.

The actress’ flance and leading | Lo in the play (Larry West) showers his attentions on a Park | Avenue girl (Patricia Dane), so Miss Powell for spite marries the pants presser, then tries to duck out of the honeymoon.
