{rose four-tenths of one per cent from August to September after declining by 15 per cent in the previous three months, the labor department’s bureau of labor statistics reported today, Secretary of Labor Frances Perkins sald that the largest increase was in clothing prices for fall lines. She said the gains were most marked for women's wear and resulted largely from a shortage of lower-priced clothing and the fact that a formula of the OPA author fzed the increases to meet higher costs.

The fac tories, producing this most important part of Hitler's war machine, were left in 3 of the raiding force, 60 Fortresses were lost—only a fraction of the number of gunners in the Forts and the P-47 Thunderbolts that accompanied them par enemy fighter planes, with 26 probables and 17 damaged.
