“Edward was returning from a bombing mission when the ship on which he was navigator had mechanical trouble ahd crashed,” the commander said. “I have just returned from funeral services which took place at 3 p. m. Sept. 18. It was a simple service held at the American vaults, “Since Edward was ¢ member of our organization only a short time, we did not have the opportunity to know him well, but we are proud to have had his service with us” he said.
