‘CPL. ROBERT N. STUCKEY, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Stuckey, 1108 W. 28th st, has been assigned to Truax field, Madison, Wis., to take an advanced radio course as control tower operator. He recently completed a course in radio operation and mechanics at Sioux Falls, S. Cpl. Stuckey is a graduate of Shortridge high school and was employed at the National Concrete Fireproofing Co. prior to entering the army.

" PFC. JOHN D. BEARDEN, son of Mrs. George Hayes, 4490 Ralston ave., is now stationed with the army air corps at Gulfport field, Miss. His wife, Mrs. Laura Bearden, lives at 145 E. Hoefgen st, Pfc. Bearden was employed at the Hall-Neal Furnace Co. before entering the army in April.

Charles R. Austermiller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles: Austermiller, 1829 Dexter st., has been promoted to the rank of sergeant of the guard at the Jackson army air base, Jackson, Miss. He has-been awarded the good conduct ribbon, Sgt. Austermiller was previously employed as a pressman at the Indianapolis Times. His wife, Mrs. Charles Austermiller, has been with him in Jackson since last September.

Cadet Emmelmann, 20, was a student at Butler university in 1942-43 and belonged to the Delta Tau Delta fraternity. He was undefeated in cross country races while at Butler. Cadet Norton, 23, was a machinist for the Curtiss-Wright Corp. in civilian life and was in the ordnance department of the armed service before his acceptance for cadet training. His wife, Mrs. Frances Norton, lives at 125 Pleasant Run, South dr. Cadet Lutes, 23, studied pre-law at Indiana university in 1938-39 and later worked as an electro-chemist for the Allision division of General Motors Corp. His wife, Mrs. Marian E. Lutes, lives at 931 Massachusetfs ave. Cadet Harper, 24, attended the Indiana business college, Muncie, Ind, in 1937-38 and was an accountant for the Trainor National Spring Co.,

been ‘promoted from “first lieutenant to captain at Napier field, Ala., where he is a postal officer. A veteran of the first world war, Capt. Dolan ‘is a former Hartford City postmaster and newspaper publisher. He was graduated from the Hartford City high school and attended the University of Beaune, France. Captain and Mrs. Dolan have two sons, James, 19, and Jack Jr., 18, both in the air corps.
