The program will present a word picture of how Eugene Ely, a young pilot, planted the seed for the carriers Lexington, Wasp, Hornet and 4 Yorktown when he flew a plane from the deck of the cruiser Birmfngham in 1910, and how, a year later, he landed his craft on the battleship Pennsylvania. In dramatic sequence will be portrayed the first use of a plane cata- |i pult at Annapolis in 1912 with Lt. |: Theodore C. Ellyson, pioneer navy flier, at the controls; the first successful transatlantic flight by three planes under the direction of Lt.
