I+ Took Doctor's
Orders to Get Ice|
WASHINGTON, Aug. 18 (U. P.). —Boomtown Washington’s = ice shortage today reached a point where at least one consumer— Albert A. Ingraham—had to present a doctor’s prescription before he could get some. Ingraham, like many another Washingtonian, had been without ice for several days. He needed some to cool milk for his two children—Laure Mae, 2, and. Albert Jr., 1. But when he went to an ice house he was told by a harassed attendant he couldn't get . the precious product without a doctor’s prescription. Ingraham got the prescription—and then got 25 pounds of ice.
