At the same time ne makes a happy mental note that the protestants paid for their seats, This helps to assauge his soul anguish. : ‘+’ The brother knows, too, that no uprising in Flatbush can become “serious so lofig as it is confined to vocal rumblings. It’s time to ‘become alarmed only when : : the addicts start shooting— 4And this direct, though some“what messy approach, is not unknown to the community. ' The blast against the rother is that he is selling old favorites down the river. The addicts have made Dolf Camilli, first baseman, the martyr around whom they rally, the source from which they draw their spleen. They say, in effect, what happened to Camilli shouldn’t happen to Hitler, or any other low form of animal life for that madtter. Camilli, key man in the Dodgers’ two big years when they were the toast of the _nption, the people’s “cherce,” was suddenly and unceremoniously sold to the Giants on waivers. Subsequently he Sa SE refused to report, and went Branch Rickey back to his California ranch. : It developed Camilli .was a 10-year man, eligible for his unconditional relesse: Besides there was substantial reason to believe he wouldn't play baseball after this season. Indeed, the brother had to make a flying trip to Camilli’s home to persuade him to play even this season. | ; .' The sale to the Giants, therefore, added up to good business. The brother was getting rid of 8 man who wasn’t doing him any . good and who wasn’t going to be vailable in 44, even if wanted. . * Camilli’s explanation for not joining the Giants: “I'm washed up. I can’t help them.” : : ® 8 = ss 8» THUS THE PLAYER'S own rds seemed to justify the brother's action. But the addicts didn’t it irregardless. They saw the

Uppercut Ends Brawl
In the seventh, Callura again attempted to take the initiative and failed as Terranova, sending hard blows to the head, staggered his opponent and had him on the verge of a knockout at the bell. : At the opening of the eighth the new champion caught Callura flush on the chin with a hard right that dropped him for the nine count. Then came the uppercut that ended the brawl. The bout was this city's first championship tilt in 26 years.
