GLIDER INSPECTORS MAY BE DISCHARGED
WASHINGTON, Aug. 12 (U. P.) — The army air forces materiel command will decide on the basis of a current investigation whether dis-
| ciplinary action should be taken
against two civilian inspectors at the Robertson Aircraft Corp. St. Louis, manufacturers of the glider which crashed Aug. 1 killing 10 persons, The war department announced late yesterday that faulty manufacture by a subcontractor, faulty inspection by the prime manufacturer, and inadequate enforcement of inspection procedures, com-’ bined to produce a fatal hidden defect in a wing strut metal fitting. Judge John F. O'Connell in probate court authorized the signing of a contract between the youngest Quiz Kid and M.-G.-M. starting at $2000 a week for Joel's first picture, and rising $1000 a week for each succeeding picture until a $5000 top is reached.
