Kappa Alumnae Association To Open Membership Drive
A summer canvass of the 500 members of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority living in or near Indianapolis will be begun Monday, according to Mrs. John W. Hillman, membership chairman of the Indianapolis alumnae association. Mrs. Hillman and Mrs. John R. Brayton, incoming
president of the association, outlined plans for the city-wide campaign to the 25 women on the membership committee. The campaign is opening now so the group will be ready to participate in the national fraternity’s wartime activities in September.

The first report meeting of the committee will be at 2 p. m. Aug. 6 in the home of Mrs. Robert W. Clark. Delta chapter alumnae members from Indiana university who will contact alumnae will be Mrs. Richard Callane, chairman, Mesdames Gayle B. Wolfe and Miss Marjorie Little. Mrs. E. Mayer Maloney is chairman of the Butler university alumnae group from Mu chapter. Her committee will include Mesdames Samuel Privett, Frederick M. Antibus, Wayne E. Rhodes, Clyde E. Robinson and Walter Myers Jr, and Miss Patricia Stayton. Committee Personnal Chairman of the Iota alumnae of DePauw university will be Mrs, Conwell R. Smith assisted by Mesdames Silas Reagan, Robert W. Clark and Harry E. Elliott and Miss Jean Grumme. Mrs. Colby Van Westrum will head the group from Gamma Delta chapter, Purdue university. To Become Bride
Mrs. Adeline McKay of University Heights announces the approaching marriage of her daughter, Virginia Eleanor, to William Hines, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Hines, 1424 Brunswick ave., Edgewood. The ceremony will be read at 8:30 p. m. Saturday, Aug. 21, in the University Heights United Brethren church. Miss McKay attended Indiana university. Mr. Hines, a graduate of Indiana, is attending the midshipmen's school at Northwestern university in Chicago and will regive his ensign’s commission Aug.

Organizations— Annual Picnic
To Be Held by Legion Group
Organizations have planned picnics and card parties for meetings in the near future, The Bruce P. Robison unit 133, AMERICAN LEGION auxiliary post, junior group and Sons of the Legion, will have its annual picnic at Ellenberger park tomorrow. Entertainment will include softball, horse shoes, tennis and swimming. An “early bird” membership drive will be conducted by Mrs. Walter Buenaman, unit membership chairman,
Mrs. William BE. McGuire, 839 Leland st, will entertain with a “brunch” at 11 a. m. Monday for members of the A. C. A. club, Guests may attend the afternoon program which has been arranged by Mrs. J. Francis Huffman. Mrs. McGuire is club president. During the year the club has donated $200 to the State Industrial School for the Blind; furnished a day room at Camp Atterbury; sold war stamps and bonds and worked at the ration board mailing center.
The annual picnic of Lambda chapter, OMEGA NU TAU sorority, will be at 7 p. m. Tuesday in River side park.

Lt. Samuel S. Daily, Miss Claire Patten To Be Wed in Ceremony at Propylaesum
THE PROPYLAEUM will be the scene, at 5:30 o'clock this afternoon, of the wedding of Miss Claire Bite tles Patten and Lt. (j. g.) Samuel Stephenson Daily, U. S. N. R. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hughgs Patten and Lt. Daily is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Oli Rush Daily, Evanston, ill. Dr. Logan Hall will officiate at an improvised altar before the fireplace. The mantel will be lighted by candles in brass holders. Water lilies, white gladioli and gardenias will form the mantelpiece and two panels of huckelberry foliage will hang on either side of the fireplace. In front of these will be white pedestals filled with mod= ern arrangements of magnolias, white asters, water lilies and gladioli. y Candelabra entwined with ivy and magnolia foliage will form the aisleway. Their bouquets will be of yellow water lilies, maiden hair fern and trailing ivy tied with pandnaus bows and they will have matching ivy crescents in their hair.
