SALVATION ARMY'S PLAYGROUND OPENS
With the opening of a playground and recreational center in the Fountain Square area, the Salvation Army here is making a bid to aid in combating juvenile delinquency. According to Brig. Thomas Leech, @ivisional commander, several hundred people attended the opening. The grounds are equipped with the usual playground facilities.

Lt. Col. Mark A. Dawson, field artillery school inspector general and staff judge advocate at Ft. Sill, Okla., has been promoted to the rank of colonel. A veteran of world war I, he was overseas with the 150th field artillery of the 42d division. He remained in the army after the armistice. Col. Dawson was assigned to his present position about two months |ago. He had previonsly been assistant inspector general of the sixth service command at Chicago.
