She studied at the Texas State College for : Women at Denton, Tex. and was supervisor for the WPA library and records.project at Ft. Worth, Tex. for was also librarian at high schools in Seymour and Pecos, Tex. After enlisting, she reported April 10 at North Hampton, :Mass., for indoctrination in the officer’s training school. Ensign Cowan was then transferred to Corpus Christi, Tex., for advanced training, before being sent to the Bunker Hill station.
