Anxious victory gardeners have :
been besieging the library and Th Times with reports of ‘ailing” tomato plants. But Horace E. Abbott, Marion county agricultural agent, says they're not ailing. Mr. Abbott points out that if the plant stays green, there is nothing for the gardener to be concerned about. The leaves are merely curling up to conserve the plant moisture. He recommended that the plants be watered heavily once a week throughout this - unusually . hot weather. This method is better than frequent, light waterings, Abbott said. On the other hand, the agent cautioned gardeners to be on the lookout for wilt, a disease which causes fhe plant to turn yellow and then brown.

REPORT GIBRALTAR SCENE OF LANDSLIDE
LONDON, June 24 (U, P.).—The Italian news agency Stefani reported today that a great landslide occurred recently on the eastern part of the British fortress of Gibraltar, “pringing into movement a million tons of earth and rock.” Repair work will require more than a year, the axis report said. Berlin radio, in a dispatch from Seville, said that the earth slide had caused British authorities to decide to build new entrances to Gibraltar on the eastern side. On the east, Gibraltar presents a nearly vertical escarpment, which in most places is inaccessible.
