Workers Tune In On’ Health Rays

NEWARK, N. J, June 15 (U. P).—A low-cost miniature “lighthouse” that broadcasts utlraviolet health rays to workers in war plants, has been developed by the Hanovia Chemical & Manufacturing Co., Frederick W. Robinson, director of research, said today. The first “lighthouse” is be- ¥ ing installed at the Victor division of the Radio Corp. of America at Harrison, N. J., on the recommendation of the plant’s war production drive committee. “Standing in a circle five feet from the lighthouse, 15 men or women can simultaneously receive ultraviolet applications within a few minutes, enabling the handling of hundreds of plant workers daily,” Robinson explained. “Five-minute daily applications are sufficient,” he added.
