'Yolk' of Movie

NEW YORK, June 10 (U. P.).— Officials of the Seaman's Church Institute of New York wondered

today whether a neighborhood.

pigeon was indulging in subtle comment on its motion picture for merchant seamen. They said that on a recent night

. While the seamen were being en-

tertained by a movie and an accompanying lecture by a museum of natural history authority, a pigeon flew into the projection room window and laid an egg on the cushion of the operator's chair. : : The name of the picture was “Migratory Birds.” The next night, they said, the pigeon returned and laid another egg. The picture was “A "Night to Remember.”

Alex S. Carroll, whois serving with an anti-aircraft: unit of the coast artillery on the west coast, has just been promoted to captain according. to \word received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James F. Carroll, 1214 Golden Hill dr. Capt. Carroll enlisted in the army as a private on Feb. 24, 1941, while employed in Detroit. He was sent to Ft. Sheridan and later in the year transferred to Ft. Lewis, Wash. In April 1942 he was sent to OCS at Camp Davis, N. C., where he received his commission as second lieutenant in July. He was assigned to the coast artillery at San Francisco and promoted to first lieutenant last October. t. Carroll’s brother, Maj. Allen Carroll, was promoted from captain on May 19.
