Wayne fs president-elect of the Indiana State Dental association, and will take office in May, 1944 following his election yesterday at the association’s convention at the Claypool hotel. Dr. Roy D. Smiley of Washingfon was installed as president, succeeding Capt. Fred W. Leavell of New Castle, now at Camp Croft, N.C. Name National Delegates Newly elected delegates to the national convention are Dr. R. R. Gillis of Hammond and Dr. R. N. Douglass of Elkhart. The alternates include Dr. H L. Longcamp, Aurora; Dr. Herbert W. Mason and Dr. Earl 8S. Gilchrist, Indianapolis, and Dr. C. H. Miller, South Bend Hold-over delegates are Dr. B. K. Westfall and Dr. William H. Crawford, Indianapolis. Hold-over alternates are Dr. E. L. Mitchell, Indianapolis; Dr. Paul A. Risk, Lafayette; Dr. C. T. Mayfield, Kokomo, and Dr. Frederick C. Baker, Hammond. Social Dentistry Grows
Announcing that socialization in g@entistry is making slow, but steady. progress, Dr. J. Ben Robinson of Baltimore, president of the American Dental association, spoke at the session yesterday. He predicted that by next January every available dentist under 40 will be in the armed forces, with a possible total of 22,000 dentists in uniform. “This means a tremendous burden for the dentists on the home front,” he said. “It means a shortage for the civilian population, but that cannot be helped—the war comes first.” Indiana Alumni Meet The class of 1918 of the Indiana University school of dentistry held fis 25th reunion with a luncheon at the Columbia club. Dean William H. Crawford and Dr. 8. X. Paliardy of the school and George W. Davidson of Indianapolis were guests. Indianapolis class members attending were Harry Epstein, L. E. Wherry, Frank Hughes, A. E Barkes, Robert Guedel and Douglas H White. Other speakers yesterday were Dr. LaMar W. Harris and Maj. Kenneth R. Cofield of Chicago. The convention will end today.

“H,’ and ‘J, which are valid through
May 31 will buy no more and ho fess late in the month than today.” OPA said interim changes in point value are made only when developments of a totally unexpected nature arise.
