Also, it doesn’t matter where a man is trained. Its how he’s trained. Physical condition is the most important factor in preparing a man for battle. A soldier in good physical shape can quickly adjust himself | to below-zero temperatures even if he has been trained in a hot climate, or vice-versa. A man in poor shape can’t do well in either a cold or a hot climate.

Police Outwitted By Renegade Pig
THE PORK shortage notwithstanding, police have decided to have nothing more to do with a pig that has been running at large and foraging in the victory gardens of Irvington. Mrs. J. R. Moore; 114 S. Ritter ave, sent in an emergency call to police today that a pig was running loose on her property. Patrolman Martin Kruse and Charles Springer were dispatched to the scene and chased the blankblank porker for an hour or more, but finally gave up. It's still out there somewhere and, as far as police are concerned, any one with ingenuity enough to catch it, can have it.
Vietim of Theft For Third Time
EMMANUEL LEVE, 2547 Carrollton ave, is* getting provoked with burglars. For the third time in two weeks, they broke into his Commercial Towel & Uniform Co. at 520 E. 11th st, last night. They took 40 dozen kitchen towels and six dozen bath towels, with a total value of $57. Burglars also broke the window in the rear door of Stegemeier’s restaurant, 114 N. Pennsylvania st., and stole liquor valued at $18. Bert Lay reported the theft of $111 from his grocery and restaurant at 3773 College ave.
