TWO FACING NOOSE “IN CAFE SLAYING
WINDSOR, Ont., May 14 (U. P.). —Two Detroit youths who shot and killed a Canadian restauranteur during a holdup last October were sentenced to hang only five minutes after a jury returned a verdict of guilty here last night. The execution was set for Aug: 24. The sentence was pronounced by Justice G. F. MacFarlane of the Ontario Supreme court immediately after a jury found Stephen Ogrodowsky, 25-year-old shipping clerk, and Bruno Kisielewsky, 21-year-old laborer; guilty of slaying Guiseppe Boreg, 42, last October. The verdict was returned with a recommendation for clemency which (the judge said would be taken into | consideration by the Canadian department of justice at Ottawa.

Change Seen as Preparation for Induction of
Fathers.
WASHINGTON, May 14 (U. P). —Further- preparation for the drafting of fathers in August was evidenced today in a war department order extending the furlough period between induction date and reception from seven to 14 days by July 1 and to 21 days by Sept. 1. The extension, it was pointed out, recognized that fathers need longer to adjust their affairs than single men. At the same time, however, selective service officials rejected a proposal by Senator Burton K. Wheeler (D. Mont.) that all draft registrants be given pre-draft physicals which would designate them finally as either fit or unfit for the draft. They said the suggestion wasn’t feasible, primarily because there are not enough physicians vo make the examinations and secondarily because the physical condition of a

OCD Staff i Meets Tonight To Map Campaign for 4000 Workers.
Although more than 400 civilian defense workers were recruited at downtown OCD headquarters during the past two weeks, a drive to enlist 4000 more will be mapped a a special OCD staff meeting tonight.
