GANGSTER HUNTED AS STANTON KILLER
CHICAGO, May 7 (U. P.) —Police today sought Sam (Golf Bag) Hunt, former trigger man for Al Capone, for questioning about the gangland slaying of Danny Stanton, Chicago's public enemy No. 1 and a czar of the labor rackets. Police said Hunt. who earned his nickname when he was arrested with a sawed-off shotgun concealed in his golf bag. may have sought to “muscle in” on Stanton’s domination of south side unions. Hunt, however, was only one of fiumerous prohibition era hoodlums sought in connection with the revival of Chicago's gang warfare. Stanton owned several handbooks, and detectives believed the slaying may have been carried out by rival gambling interests.
