GENE GRADY ' WOODFINE, son ‘of William Woodfine, 2811 N. - Illinois st., is determined to play a part in the war. / Disappointed when his army outfit was shipped overseas and himself honorably discharged because he was over-age he went into a defense plant, worked there . briefly and then joined the navy, enlisting as a ship's cook 3-¢ in. the U. S. naval reserve. He had been in the army nine months and was rejected for combat because of some missing teeth. Now—teeth fixed—he is going
