that the foreman of the jury -had received a county contract himself € while he and other jurors were probing contracts. A second jury was selected three weeks ago but after it had been in session only two days, one mem- | ber resigned and this delayed deliberations until today. Prosecutor Sherwood Blue said the jury will have to spend the next two weeks handling routine cases of persons now in jail awaiting jury action before investigations can be resumed on the county contracts. Inquiry into contracts was started last January when the state health board revealed that “watered” milk E had been sold to Sunnyside sani- =| tarium, the county's tuberculosis hospital. Later the office of price administration disclosed that inferior meat was sold to the institu- £ | tion under a county contract. , =| The investigations then branched E out to include the Julietta infirmary S| building project which had been under construction for five years at = a -cost of nearly $500,000, compared E [to the original estimates of $263,000.
