CHICAGO, Golden gloves for ring greats like Joe Louis, Barney Ross, Tony Zale and “Sugar” { Robinson, reaches its ‘annual climax tonight when the iter city matches are held. ‘Young and ambitius: fighters from every section of the nation excepting the far west, battled. their way through .a long series of elimi- | yation meets to gain places on ‘the teams that carry the official designations of New York and Chicago. Approximately 20,000 fight fans are expected to jam the Chicago stadium to watch the 16th renewsl of this amateur mitt classic. The series was inaugurated in 1928 and Chicago holds a wide edge in it with eight victories, four defeats and three ties. ‘The Windy City rep--resentatives haven't dropped a match in which they were the host team since 1929 and are favored to protect that record tonight.
