WASHINGTON, March 24 (U.P). —Mobilization of members of wom‘en’s clubs for active service on farms this summer was urged yes- . terday ~by the women’s advisory committee of the war manpower ~ commission. : : In a statement issued by the . committee, headed by Miss Margaret A. Hickey of St. Louis, physi- ~ cally able women were urged to take a “personal responsibility” in meeting the critical farm labor needs. It was suggested that women’s clubs find out from their county agricultural agents or local U. 'S. employment office what are the farm labor needs in their particular communities. Stewart, who are conducting the series of eight meetings, will discuss the “Ten Best Radio Programs of 1942” with an “Analysis of Current Radio Programs” at the meeting. The series is being conducted to further interest in radio and give a practical knowledge of the technique used in each type of program. All meetings are open to the public and begin at 7:30 p. m. in the large studio of radio station WIRE in the Claypool hotel.
