McVie-Eveleigh Coremany Is Read; Couple to Be at Home in Washington

McVIE are on a wedding trip following their marriage
last night at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl F. Eveleigh. They will be at home after April 1 in Washington where Lieut. McVie is stationed.
Mrs. McVie was Miss Sue Anne Eveleigh. Lieut. Mc-
Vie is the son of Mr. and Mrs. A. M. McVie. The wedding ceremony, at 8:30 o'clock, was read by Dr. Roy Ewing Vale, pastor of Tabernacle Presbyterian church. As a background for the rite there were tiered panels of blooming gardenia plants and a semicircle of the plants with cathedral candles extending to each corner of the living room.

The entrance to the room was marked by tiered bouquets of white tulips, lilacs, sweetpeas and ;maidenhair fern. The harpist, Miss Mary Catherine Stair, was seated on the stairway landing which was decorated with dogwood blossoms and cibotium ferns, . Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white tissue satin gown fashioned in princess style with a romance neckline and long sleeves forming points over the hands. The fitted basque was accented by sprays of seed pearls as was the full skirt which extended into a train, Her veil of English illusion was full length and was attached to a cap and shawl of heirloom Chantilly lace from her mother’s wedding gown. She carried a cascade of white orchids and valley lilies,
Attendants Wear White Bengaline Frocks
MISS JANET DRUMM, Utica, N. Y., and the Misses Mary Scott Morse, Margaret Wohlgemuth and Claire Patten were the bride's attendants. They were gowned alike in frocks of white bengaline with three-quarter length sleeves, fitted bodices extending into scalloped peplums, and gathered bouffant skirts. Their flowers were crescents of gardenias and white stocks edged with maidenhair fern. They wore single gardenias in their hair. Ensign Robert McVie, Washington, was his brother’s best man and the ushers were Charles Crumbaker, Ensign Edward Frost of Cleveland and Carl F. Eveleigh Jr., brother of the bride. The bride’s mother wore an Eleanor blue crepe gown with silver accessories and the Bridegroom’ S mother | wore cadet blue with silver accessories.
Reception Follows Ceremony
. A RECEPTION at the Eveleigh home followed the ceremony. Out-of-town guests were Mrs. Ethel Fleetheart, Rushville; Mrs. Samuel F. Gray, San Antonio, Tex., and C. H. Birdsall," Evanston, Ill As her going-away costume, the bride chose a brown tweed suit with a chive green topcoat and brown accessories. Her corsage was of white orchids. She attended Abbot academy at Andover, Mass., and was graduated last June from Mount Holyoke college, South Hadley, Mass. Lieut. McVie was graduated from Wabash college in 1941 and attended the Harvard business school before entering the army. At Wabash he was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity. He is stationed with the division of statistical controls in Washington.
Two to Speak at Museums 2
CARL ZIGROSSER, curator of prints at the Pennsylvania museum in Philadelphia, will give a public lecture at John Herron Art museum tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 o'clock in connection with the current American print exhibition there. The Art Association of Indianapolis is presenting Mr. Zigrosser. His lecture will be in the gallery where the prints are shown. Mr. Zigrosser is the author of “Six Centuries of Fine Prints” and is one of the nation’s leading authorities on the subject. He will speak on prints in general before discussing the pictures in the exhibit. The art association’s host committee for the museum tomorrow includes Mrs. William C. Griffith, chairman; Mrs. James W. Fesler, association president; Mrs. Edgar H. Evans, Mrs, Booth T. Jameson . and Harry Wood.

The Indiana University Women’s club of Indianapolis will have Dr. Kate H. Mueller, dean of women at . the university, as the principal ' speaker at a tea next Saturday afte ernoon. Girls graduating with honors from Indianapolis high schools this spring will be guests. The tea will be at 2 o'clock in the Ball residence of the Indiana university medical center. Five coeds from the Bloomington campus will confer with the high school seniors who are planning to enroll at I. U.
