Hueber Savings & Loan 'associa~tion for the last six years and was a member of Centre Masonic lodge 23, the Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Martin; his. wife, Gladys E.; a daughter, Doris; a son, Charles, and a sister, Mae, all of Indianapolis.
NEEDS MORE MEN
Twenty local men who last week responded to the call of the merchant marine will be placed on board ship or_in training within the next 30 days, according to Miss Aletha Pettijohn, manager of the U. S. employment service here. The need of the merchant marine for engineers, mates, able seamen, cook-bakers and radio operators is growing more acute daily. Four ships are being launched each day, and it is vital that these ships be kept sailing to carry food and supplies fo our men and to our allies overseas, Miss Pettijohn said.
