2 8 = Frederick B. Schmitz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred C. Schmitz, has been promoted to the rank of sergeant in the 113th observation squadron stationed at Alamo field, San Antonio. His duties are those of a parachute rigger and repairman. Sergt. Schmitz was graduated from Tech high school and TriState college at Angola, where he majored in electrical engineering.
