liberately violated the Franco-Ger-man armistice terms, to incorporate Alsace in the Reich, Alsatian history has been marked by a long series of the national humiliations, pinpricks and ruthless measures for which the Nazis have made themselves famous throughout the continent. Numerous Alsatian families with
