Propylaeum to Be the Scene Tonight Of Haynes-Hofft Wedding Ceremony
MISS MARGARET HOFFT will become the bride of Wilbur Vance Haynes Jr. in a ceremony at 8:30 o’clock this evening in the Propylaeum. Dr. Jean S. Milner will officiate. . The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice A. Hofft, and ‘the parents of the bridegroom are Mr. and Mrs, Wilbur Vance Haynes of Marion, Ky., and St. Petersburg, Fla. The vows are to be read before an improvised altar in the large bay window of the south parlor, Two seven-branch candelabra ahd a pedestal arrangement of pink and white roses and white carnations will stand before a bank of palms. ’ At the entrance to the bay window two large cathedral candlesticks, which were used at the wedding of the bride’s parents and at that of her sister, Mrs. A. T. Stone, will be placed on flower pedestals. - Spring flowers, gardenias and roses will be used in bouquets on the mantles and throughout the rooms.
¥ The bridal table will be decorafed with small bouquets of ‘the ‘same flowers tied with lace frills and silver ribbon.
Bride Will Wear Brocaded Satin
DR. STONE WILL PLAY “Liebestraum,” “Clair de Lune” and Intermezzo from “Cavalleria Rusticana” before the ceremony, and the Lohengrin and “Midsummer Night's Dred” wedding marches, The bride, who will be given in marriage by her father, has chosen -& gown of antique ivory brocaded satin, fashioned with a fitted basque, romance neckline and long sleeves tapering to points over the hands. The bouffant skirt extends into a train. Her veil of English illusion will be attached to a wreath of orange blossoms. She is to carry a prayer book made for her mother’s Wedding, and a handkerchief of duchess lace belonging to her grand- . mother; Mrs. Carrie L. Pray.s A white orchid will top the prayer book . and sweetheart roses will be tied in white satin streamers. ~ Mrs, Stone, matron of. honor, will be gowned in cameo rose taffeta. ‘The romance neckline of her dress is edged with val lace and the ~~ fitted bodice is accented at the waist with criss-cross insertion. A ~ pompadour headdress of the lace will complete her costume. She is to carry a Dresden cascade bouquet of spring flowers. : Mrs. Hofft will have a turquoéise gown with a lace bodice and an _orchid corsage. Mrs. Haynes has chosen 4 gown of rose beige chiffon fashioned with a jacket, and her flowers will be brown orchids. : .FoHowing the reception the couple will leave for a wedding trip to st. The bride is a graduate of Christian college. The couple will make their home in Marion, Ky. Out-of-town guests at the wedding ‘will include Mrs. Cecil Ellis, Ann Arbor, Mich., -and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Gregory and daughter, Marion, of Bloomington.

Hospital Guild Party to Aid Tiny Tim Fund
The annual benefit card party given by the Garden chapter of the Methodist Hospital White Cross guild will be Thursday afternoon, Jan. 28, in Ayres’ auditorium. Mrs. Clarence Kittle, president, has appointed Mrs. W. D. Pyle chairman for the event. The hospital's Tiny Tim fund for sick or crippled children will receive the proceeds. Contributions of $10. each to the Tiny Tim fund have been made by Mrs. Mattie Lee and Mrs. Walter Phillips of the Garden chapter, and by Mrs. Mathilda Weil of Rockport as a memorial to her daughter, Mrs. Isaac Born, at one time White Cross guild president.

Mrs. James E. Perry, assistant to the superintendent of nurses in
receptionists, has reported that 2184 women served as receptionists on hospital floors the last half of 1942. They represent 36 chapters of the guild. Mesdames Roscoe Barnes, Charles Whiteneck, Harvey J. Morehouse and A. R. Shirley, representing respectively the Municipal ' Gardens, Brightwood, New Jersey St. .and Broadway chapters, have volunteered for service in: the nurses’ library and each is giving one day a week, Mrs. Perry reported. Miss Nadine Bell was the maid of honor, Mrs, Richard Scott Jr., sis-ter-in-law. of the bride, and Miss Ruth Hale were bridesmaids, The three attendants wore identical ‘peacock blue . gowns fashioned with velvet. bodices. and chiffon skirts. “The fitted bodices had sweetheart necklines and bracelet length sleeves. - Miss Hale carried pale pink roses and wore matching flowers in her hair. Mrs. Scott had dusty pink roses, and Miss Bell carried American Beauties. -Mr. Scott Jr. was best man and the ushers included Rill Parsley, brother of the bridegroom; Bob Sweany and Allan Cortelyou.
