STATE HITS 40% OF BOND QUOTA
$6,640,000 Worth Sold in 12 Days; City Meets 27% of Goal.
The state of Indiana was running ahead of Indianapolis in quest of the war bond quota for December. Wray E. Fleming, state administrator of. the war savings staff, reported that for the first 12 days of December the state had . already raised 40 per cent of the monthly quota assignment, with sales at $6,640,000. ;
In contrast with this percentage
is the 27 per cent total which Indianapolis has reached in buying close to $2,000,000 worth of bonds. Bonds for Gifts James F. Frenzel, Marion county administrator, reported that more than 50,000 workers in Indianapolis already are 10 per centers, while
250,000 are in this category through- |
out the state. Brown and Union counties are outstanding in the month’s quota race.
War savings staff officials drew]
the following conclusions from the announced totals: “Hoosiers will exchange many bonds as gifts; the first Pearl Harbor anniversary had stimulated bond sales on the ‘rev ge’ basis, and the ‘Top 10 per cent’ drive is showing results in sales figures.”
