Facilities were limited in those days to two transmitters only and 10 hours of programs per day in all Moreover, all programs were in the English language. From its humble beginning, BBC has advanced from -a single 1anguage to 45 different tongues and dialects, from a handful of people to a staff of thousands and from a single distance broadcast to a 70hour daily world-wide short-wave service, Norman Corwin, who recently returned from England, is probably this country’s No. 1 BBC booster.
