The safety board has turned down another demand from a second group of workers seeking pension status as members of the police department. Two weeks ago seven police department radio operators threatened to strike if the city administration continued to delay action to get them on pension status. The safety board a week ago promised the radio men that a lawsuit to determine their pension status would be pushed as speedily _@s possible and the strike was called off,
Guards File Petition
Yesterday five men working as police guards for the park board, but subject to police department direction, filed a petition with the safety board demanding that they, too, be admitted to regular police pension rights. Board members denied the petition, instructing the men to apply

A suit to determine how long James L. Bradford, recently appointed county auditor, can hold his office, was to be filed in superior court this afternoon. " The action was to be filed by Ralph F. Moore, Republican county auditor-elect, who will contend that he is entitled to take possession of the office Jan. 1. Mr. Bradford, ex-Republican county chairman, was appointed
auditor by county commissioners|g last October after a bitter factional|$
fight with rival party leaders. The
post was made vacant by the death of Glenn B. Ralston, Democrat.
Year of Term Left
Mr. Ralston’s four-year term for which he was elected, would not have expired until Jan, 1, 1944, This raised a legal question as to the tenure of the appointee’s term, whether a newly elected auditor could take possession immediately after his election or whether Mr.
