REMEMBER

PEARL HARBOR December 7. 1941

Fighting for the Freedoms.

-

A Sincere SALUTE To All Our Military Forces

Onithis day, the first anniversary of Pearl Harbor, we 'at home' extend a sincere salute to our

brave fighting men around the world . .

. from the sun baked sands of Africa to the jungles and

swamps of Panama and Gaudalcanal and to the ice bound outposts of Alaska and Iceland.

Our deepest admiration is yours for the way in which you have tackled the job that must be

done—a job that was not of your making. After many months of preparation evidence that

you can do that job is reaching our shores daily. Despite handicaps and in the face of over-

whelming odds you.are proving to the World that Americans are made of honor, courage and

a willingness to give all for the preservation of those things that all true Americans hold so dear. You are making progress at the cost of many sacrifices—sacrifices that we confidently feel you believe are worth the objectives you seek-freedom from fear, oppression, attack and slavery for those you left behind. Freedom of worship and speech—those same freedoms your forefathers considered worth fighting for, worth sacrificing for. Freedoms that brought to your nation the highest standards of living and democracy the world has ever known. Freedoms that will enable your country to rise still higher in the years to come. The loved ones you left behind are deeply appreciative of your hardships and you may be sure that your sacrifices ~ will be honored, remembered and repaid—God in his infinite wisdom will see to that.
