Department Stores Lead Buying Increases Throughout Indiana

THE PUBLIC IS BUYING WHILE the buying is good, Judging from the government report on stores sales. Not counting the chain stores or large department stores, Indiana retailers sold 9 per cent more (in dollar volume) last month than in October, 1941. October sales were 8 per cent over September. Indiana’s department stores last month did a business 36 per cent greatir than October last year, according to the commerce departiient.
