AUDITION IS SET FOR FORT SHOW

For Entertainment in City Next Month.

The ‘second audition to select | talent for the first Ft. Harrison allarmy radio and’ stage show, to be presented in an Indianapolis theater about the middle of December, wil! be held at 7:30 p. m. Tuesday

and Greene aves. The first audition last Tuesday night for singers and musicians wds very successful, with more than 25 soldiers turning out. The second audition will be for dancers, comedians and actors. Any soldiers from Ft. Harrison having property man experience are also invited to attend. Talent gathered from the buditions will also be used in a series of weekly 30-minute broadcasts the first of which will be heard over station WISH Dec. 2. The time will be announced later. Lieut. Col. Oscar C. Schwalm, commanding officer of the veterinarian detachment 1530th service unit, will talk on food inspection on the “Food for the Army” program from 1 to 1:15 p. m. Sunday over WIRE. ”

Graduate From Training School at Purdue; Two Are Honored.

Times Special LAFAYETTE, Nov. 20.— Lieut. Comm. Herbert M. Hart presented third class petty officer ratings to 175 sailors who graduated from the naval training school at Purdue university as electricians’ mates, third class. This is the third company to complete the 16-weeks course which covers electrical theory, use and care of motors, different types of wiring used aboard ship, and mathematics. Eight hundred men are; in training. Ralph E, Bietz, 28, of Burr Oak, Mich, was’given a special award as the trainee with the highest scholastic record. A. N. Morris, 34, Detroit, was voted the most deserving graduate and he, too, was given a special award.

R. B. Stewart, controller of the uniyersity, and A. A. Potter, dean of the schools of engineering, addressed the graduates, their school mates, parents and friends. Lieut.
