Livestock experts are saying that along in December and January we are going to see some days when 20,000 hogs will be brought to market heré. The government recently made a survey of stockyards’ facilities here and concluded that 20,000 could be handled daily without congestion.
Now: the railroads are still in the|

Gain Chimodities Little -* Changed.
NEW YORK, Oct. 24 (U. P.)— Special issues, with gains ranging from 1 to more than 2 points, fea= tured a firm, quiet stock market today. ‘Bonds rose irregularly. Commodities were little changed. Prices were sustained by word the British had launched an attack against the Nazis in Africa. Record high industrial production, as reflected in the .Federal Reserve index for Septémber, and indications the steel industry will turn out a record tonnage of “steel ingots next week also helped the list. Steel shares were quiet but firm. Leaders made fractional advances. Automobile stocks held around the previous close. Rail ‘shares were steady to firm, with exception of Norfolk & Western, which lost nearly 2 points. International Telephone continued to appear on large .blocks, ranging to 5000 shares, and led the market in turnover. Dome Mines
¥a| was well up on the list of actives to
feature a better market for gold mining stocks. Large volume came into Pepsi-Cola, which made a new high, and in Canadian Pacific, also at a new top for the year.
