"LILY PONS has been selected to open the Metropolitan opera broadcasts on the Blue network Nov. 28. She will star in “Daughter of the Regiment.” ._. . Richard Cromwell, who played the role of Kut Marshall on the NBC show, “Those We Love,” has entered the armed services and withdrawn from the show. The rest of the cast, needless to say, gave him a big going - away party. The recent world series games between the Cardinals and Yankees was listened to by 30.1 per cent of the radio set owners in the country, a survey by Co-Operative Analysis of Broadcasting, Inc. has revealed but it did not top the YankeesDodgers listening audience last year. The 1941 classic set a record for a one-network broadcast of the series when the total reached 32.8. The highest world series rating to be reached was in 1935 during the Ti-gers-Cubs series when C. A. B. re-|’ corded a rating of 35 per cent. However, the broadcast was on a four- |! network hookup.
