ERNIE PADGETT, who as shortstop for the Boston Braves completed an unassisted triple play: against’ the Phillies in 1928, is now taking cooking lessons at his home in Philadelphia. . . Times Special BLOOMINGTON, Oct. 9.—There’s a long tradition to be upheld by Indiana's cross-country ° runners when \they launch their 1942 season tomorrow against Purdue's veteran squad at West Lafayette.
During the past 14 years, Indiana’s|:
{long-winded boys, under the direction of Coach Billy Hayes, have achieved a string of wins unmatched by any college or university. Against 36 Big Ten team victories, Indiana has lost but five matches, two of them last fall. Against all comers, the Hoosiers have captured 60 or 67
