Aside from this there was no particular news to affect’ the list. Volume in steels and motors fell off sharply and prices were mixed. Indianapolis department store sales dropped 2 per cent last week ? under the week ending Sept. 13 a year ago. Likewise sales in Detroit and Chicago were down from ala year ago and the entire seventh Federal Reserve bank’ district showed a decline of 5 per cent. - However, sales in the city for the two weeks period ending Sept. 12 were 16 per cent above the same period a year ago and for’ four weeks ending Sept. 12 they were four per cent above the same period last year. Milwaukee was the only city in the district to report gains during all of these periods.

ELKHART MAN NAMED ; Ross Martin, Northern Indiana Briss Co., Elkhart, Ind., has been named as a member of the industry advisory committee for the wrought copper solder type fittings of the refrigeration industry, it was announced today. He is one of three members.
