' By FRANK WIDNER JUST A YEAR ago, Ned LeFevre, former staff announcer at WFBM there ‘now with NBC, casually met Barbara Luddy, one of the network’s top ‘flight daytime dramatic @ctresses in a studio, They were only partially acquainted when Mr. LeFevre:asked Miss Luddy for her -picture, explaining that his : cousin had asked him to get one from her. On Friday, Sept. 18, Ned and Miss te Luddy will be Miss Luddy ;000ied at the home of Mr, and Mrs. Luther Tompkins Wallace in Winnetka, Ill. Their coming marriage was announced today by the bride-to-be’s mother, Mrs. Willam Thomas Luddy, of California. Best man for the ceremony will be William Kiley Jr., sales manager for WFBM, and Mrs. Joseph Ainley; known to radio fans as Betty Lou Gerson, will be Barbara's matron of honor. Ushers will be Michael Roy, Blue network m. c., and Dave Garroway, NBC anfouncer. A gala round of festivities are being planned prior to the wedding day, including showers by Mr. and Mrs. Durward Kirby and Mr. and Mrs. Les Tremayne. |

The same day, the Blue network has announced that it will broadcast a description of the FordhamPurdue and Minnesota-Pittsburgh tilts. NBC also has scheduled the Texas-Northwestern game Oct. 3. : 8:88 CLAUDE RAINS will be brought to the NBC-WIRE tonight for-an-other starring role on the “Cavalcade of America” series at 7 o'clock. He will play the role of Richard Harding Davis, America’s colorful war correspondent, in “Soldier of Fortune.” '. . . Grace Moore will be the guest of the Telephone Hour’s “Great Artists’ series at 8 o'clock tonight on the same station. ; # a . PARKS JOHNSON and Warren Hull will be at the Bell Aircraft Corp. in Buffalo, N. Y., tonight for their program on WFBM at 7 o'clock. . . .
